Dharma School
The main objective of the Berkeley Buddhist Temple Dharma School is to help our students have a better understanding of Jodo Shinshu Buddhist teachings in a safe and fun community. We also wish to provide an appreciation and gratitude of the interdependency of all living things through the awareness of Amida Buddha’s infinite wisdom and compassion.
Our caring teachers provide age-appropriate, engaging, and meaningful activities that may incorporate art, videos, stories, games, presentations, field trips, and service projects.
Dharma School classes:
- Pre-Kindergarten to second grade
- Second- and third-grade through fifth-grade
- Sixth-grade through eighth-grade
- Ninth-grade through 12-grade
Classes meet after the Dharma Family Service on Sundays and last approximately from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. The classrooms are located in rooms adjacent to or next to the main temple.
Interested students and families always are welcome to join us. For more information, please feel free to contact the current Dharma School Superintendent or you can visit Dharma School FAQs.
